Enhancing employee learning experience is not a one-time activity. It’s an ongoing effort towards building a productive workforce. Organizations spend a lot of time, effort and resources on recruiting skilled talent but fail to engage and retain them.
Through this blog, we explore the different factors that can impact the employee learning experience from the very first day and how a learning management system can enhance the experience.
Employee Job Fitment
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the cost of a bad hire is at least 30% of the employee's first-year earnings. This makes understanding the employee’s job fitment crucial for business growth.
Effective onboarding training programs can help you set job expectations even before the employee joins. LMS proves to be a great aid in helping new hires understand the job functionalities and the skills they will require to excel at their new job. Once the employees have absolute clarity about the role expectations, they feel more engaged with the work.
Compliance & Regulation Training
Compliance training promotes a safer workplace and reduces the risk of legal action. This helps organizations educate their workforce about the code of conduct they expect from them.
Organizations have process compliance and regulations in place to ensure that the applicable laws, regulations, standards and ethical practices are followed. As the average annual cost from companies that experience non-compliance issues is about $14.82 million, this becomes a crucial part of employee training.
Organizations can make compliance training available for their employees as a learning module through LMS. It becomes easier to upload handbooks and other compliance material that employees can readily access.
Career Progression & Better Employee Learning Experience
About 31% of employees quit within the first 6 months of starting a new job because the position didn’t align with their career growth expectations. The modern workforce expects to consistently upskill and grow. LMS enhances learning with features like gamification, video-based learning, spaced learning and more. Employees can align their career growth expectations with the business goals and upskill themselves as required.
Virtual Tours
Employee engagement becomes even more important for a remote workforce. With virtual tours, new hires can get a thorough view of the organization, people and processes. They can be introduced to the higher management team and decision-makers. LMS makes this all possible and delivers a seamless virtual experience to remote employees.
Collaboration with Peers
As social media based learning is becoming a popular trend in employee L&D, the importance of collaborative learning has grown multifold. Collaborative learning helps employees learn faster. They feel an integral part of the learning community and discussion forums where they can reach out to their peers whenever needed.
Organizations can integrate social learning and collaboration features into their learning platforms and build learning communities to facilitate collaboration with peers on the platform itself. This enables employees to share knowledge nuggets and other information with their peers and learn together. This results in better learning and enhanced employee performance.
